2021 Board of Directors Candidates
5 Board positions need to be filled; vote for up to 5 candidates.
A credit union member and Board member since 1969, our founding year, Paul retired
from Saint Agnes Hospital as a Vice President. He has more than 35 years' experience
teaching at the community college and university levels. Paul has served as Professor
and Department Chair of Business Studies and is Professor Emeritus from CCBC. He is
currently a professor of Healthcare Administration at UMBC.
In addition to being a business owner and serving on other boards, Paul has received
recognition for his credit union service, including the Volunteer of the Year award
(presented twice) by the MD/DC Credit Union Association (MDDCCUA) and the Award for
Exemplary Credit Union Volunteer Service by the National Center for Credit Unions.
A credit union member for 47 years, Marleen has served on this Board for 45
years. Marleen worked at Saint Agnes Hospital for 23 years and at University of
Maryland Medical Center for 16 years. After that, she was a Marketing Assistant/Business
Development Specialist at this credit union until her retirement in 2018.
Currently, Marleen is the Physician Liaison for Orthopedics Associates of Central
Maryland (OACM). She also is a volunteer on the Board of the Greater Catonsville
Chamber of Commerce.
Franklin "Frank" King
A credit union member for 28 years, Frank retired from his position as Senior
Manager/Sales Distribution Support for Amtrak. His extensive professional experience
in managing capital and operating budgets for technology and business operation projects
and more than 25 years of cyber security experience included 10 years as a Director of
Information Security operations. Frank has served as a Board of Directors volunteer for
two community associations as well as serving on our credit union's Board.
Karen has served on our Board of Directors for 22 years; for most of those years
she has been chair of the Membership Committee. To stay current with local and
national credit union affairs, she attends MDDCCUA's annual meeting, and attends
monthly Board meetings to participate in all decisions crucial to the credit union's
operations. Because Karen works at Ascension Saint Agnes Hospital, she provides vital,
current information about the hospital that may affect the direction of the credit union.
Before her retirement, Carolyn served as the Director of Rehabilitation
Services for Ascension Saint Agnes. Carolyn has been a credit union member for
16 years and a Board member for eight years. Carolyn values the opportunities she
has experienced in training, meeting planning and networking with our credit
union members and Board members.
